Happy 40th Anniversary Mom and Dad!

Today is my parents 40th wedding anniversary. All five kids are here and we are taking them out to dinner at Olive Garden then dessert at their house to celebrate! We all got together and got Dad a DROID smart phone and Mom a pandora wedding bead for her bracelet. It was a fun weekend with all of us together!

Also this AM Matt and I went to the GCMC prenatal class from 9-12. It was actually a great class and we are super glad we took it. We even toured the floor at the end of the class (which was nice for Matt since he hadn't really seen it).

34 weeks! Another Ultrasound

We are 34 weeks today and had our last ultrasound. They again were measuring his size. He measured the 79th percentile and a whoping 6lb4oz. We are hoping his growth slows down or totally off! lol!
Dr Percy said today we will most like be induced in the 39th week to hopefully avoid a C-Section because of his size. I am A-OK with that. Our number one desire is for him to be healthy of course, but if at all possible for me to be able to deliver vaginally. Thankfully being the faithful Calvinist that we are, we know God has already pre-ordained Caleb's means of birth and the exact date and time he will come! So we rest assured in that no matter what! We go back in 2 weeks and then start our weekly visits until he arrives!

We have pictures from his ultrasound, but they are not that great because again he kept his face covered! So I will maybe post one later, but the were much better at the 30 week scan.

Next time we see him will be when he arrives! Oh my stars!

A little scare!

Today we had a little scare and had to go to the hospital! I went to work as usual, but felt lousy all day. Around 11 am I realized I had no appitite and the thought of eating made me wanna puke. I was also having braxton hicks like crazy! I finally talked to my boss and asked if I could go home. I text Monica and asked her if it was normal to feel AWFUL for the rest of the pregnancy (with the nausea, contractions, and loss of appetite). She asked me a bunch of questions and said if I started to throw up or have diarrhea to go to the hospital tomake sure I was not going into preterm labor. Well, low and behold Matt got home from training around 3:45 and within 10 minutes of him being home I began to throw up, ALOT! It was only water because I hadn't eaten all day. After throwing up my BH contractions kept getting closer and closer, so we headed to GCMC. Monica called Kay Hankins and she met us up there and got the awesome charge nurse, Joy to take care of us. I was super emotional of course thinking if Caleb comes tonight he will def. be put in the NICU (I dont handle scary situations all that great :D) Matt did AWESOME.  He got us to the hospital and was the most supportive man every telling me constantly that everything would be okay. The nurse Joy confirmed I was having contractions, but my cervix was still closed, not dialating- Thank God Caleb was not on his way out! She then stated it ws probably just dehydration and a stomach bug I had gotten. I got an entire bag of fluids and some Zofran (nausea medicine) and felt like a new person! Thankful after getting all the fluids the contractions slowed down significantly. Dr. Ramsten was on call and allowed us to be D/C'd without having to even come up there. So around 7:30 PM we were discharged. Matt suggested I stay home from work tomorrow to rest and Day said 100% agreed. So today I am just laying around feeling pretty sluggish working off the rest of this stomach bug. I will definitely increase my water intake because being dehydrated during pregnancy is no joke!!!

Ballet girls!

Today was my last "trip" allowed during the pregnancy. We went to Pensacola to see Ansley and Olivia's ballet recital with In His Steps.

I found that riding in the middle, sitting for 2 hours in a car is extremely uncomfortable at 32 weeks pregnant! I fully understand why I will not be doing this again until he is out!

Couple Shower 6-3-2011

Tonight Cayla, Cindy Scott, Kim Gann, Annette Massey and Cathy Anderson hosted a beautiful couples shower for us at Cindy's house. It was a great time. They made it a poker shower for the guys to play cards with the buy in to play being a pack of diapers. The ladies opened gifts in the other room while they played. It was a huge success and we got so many diapers to last for months! I forgot my camera for this shower because we left the house early in a rush to see James fly into Tyndall Air Force Base before heading to the shower. So, hopefully I can get some pictures from Cindy from the night. They hosts gave us our video monitor system! Cayla knows me so well...she did not take the monitor off of our registry so I would not know in advance what they got :) I looked at her after I opened it and said, "this wasn't on the registry!" She laughed and said I KNOW, I did it on purpose! I thought for sure they had gotten the rocking chair/ glider because it was purchased that monday before the shower (turns out it was from my mom who is already spoiling the mess out of us and Caleb!) We received many other wonderful gifts for Caleb. This little guy is almost completely set! We are still blown away by our friends and family.
We are now 31 weeks and in the home stretch! I can't believe how fast and slow time is flying! He will be here before we know it I'm sure!
Tomorrow is our oldest nieces, Natalie's NINTH birthday! I can't believe she is getting so big. Seems like just yesterday we were in the hospital for the first time meeting her. We are going to her skating party on Tuesday night. No worries, I will be sitting on the benches watching Matt and all the kids skating.

Side note: June 9 is one year since I had my LASIK eye surgery! Still seeing 20/20 and so thankful I was able to receive this procedure for free!

30 weeks....the home stretch!

Today we had our 30 week check up and an ultrasound to measure Caleb's growth. We saw Dr Smith for the appt. and all is well with that. My belly has been measuring 2 weeks ahead; so, at the last appt Dr. Percy ordered an US to check his actual size. Kay the super sweet ultrasound tech always makes ultrasounds so fun; and she ALWAYS gives us the DVD and CD of pictures!! On to the ultrasound info :)
He did measure a little big, about a week and half ahead already being almost 4 pounds. So, it's not just fluid making me measure big...it's actually him! ha! I asked Kay what all that could mean delivery wise because of course a big head slightly concerns me for a vaginal delivery :). She said they do not change your due date, but will continue to watch him and may induce a week early. She said she has seen other OB's induce two weeks early, but Dr. Percy and Smith are more conservative for baby's safety and prefer a week (maybe 10 days in rare cases). Another option could mean if he continues to grow alot we could end up needing a C-Section. Or the pressure of his big little body might break my water putting me into labor early all on his own. She said 1 in 4 woman expierence their water breaking and from her expierence she would say I probably have a good chance of that since I'm so tiny and he is bigger and I have a good amount of amniotic fluid. BUT all in all God is in control and you NEVER know. Anything is possible! We are open for whatever just as long as he is born healthy! (PS wont lie though 2 weeks early all on his own would be legit for multiple reasons :) to name a few 1. heartburn is of the devil, 2. sleeping on my back was taken for granted 8 months ago, and most importantly 3. matt would still be on summer vacation!)
We discovered Caleb looks very much like his daddy! Kay said, "he is going to be a mommy's boy, but look like his daddy!" He wouldnt let us take good pictures of him to show all of you how much like Matt he looks.....I laughed at this because I think he very well may get that from me. When I was a kid I HATED having my picture taken. I would frown or flat out refuse because I didnt want my picture taken..side note little miss Olivia Schreiber is showing that wonderful Jessica Hayes trait as well! Anywho, Caleb wouldn't move his feet or hands away from his face long enough for us to get a picture!  This is the best she was able to get and his hand and foot are both in it. He still looks SUPER sweet though :) Monica was in there for a good bit watching with us. She and Kay both said he has Matts chin and profile! Kay also saw HAIR---that's a Teplicek thing for sure! Before baby Noah, we Hayes' had no idea what it was like to see a newborn with hair. That always came along around the age of 2. lol! We can't wait to meet this sweet little face and see some brown hair (so he blends in with us of coarse, but ya never know it could be blonde). I have said the whole time I hope he looks like his HANDSOME daddy!
He is already head down and ready for the next 10 weeks to fly by! Head down means that big knot I feel at the top of my tummy is his butt or foot just like I thought. Now I bet some are thinking, "I thought you said his foot was covering his face?" You are right, little man was spread eagle with one foot up at the top and the other down by his face with his hands....that is unreal!
We loved watching the ultrasound. We got to see him hiccup, which I started noticably feeling earlier this week. He gets them all the time. I read that that's a great thing because he is practicing his breathing and developing well! Toward the end we even saw him yawn, blink, and stick out his tongue! THAT by far was the most insane! It just puts it into perspective that this life is living inside of me! Here are videos. the first is his hiccups and the second is his tongue sticking out.

I read during my quiet time the other day how children are a reward. This has really stuck in my head that God finds us to be worthy of a great reward. We feel so fortunate to receive this blessing that we most definitely do not deserve. We pray that we are Godly parents who daily point him and ourselves to the cross of Christ. It's a big task, and sometimes seems scary, but God is granting us this reward and I KNOW He is faithful and will walk us through this new and exciting chapter!

Tomorrow is our first baby shower at Caroline Graef's house! I AM SO PUMPED! I will post about it for sure!
