30 weeks....the home stretch!

Today we had our 30 week check up and an ultrasound to measure Caleb's growth. We saw Dr Smith for the appt. and all is well with that. My belly has been measuring 2 weeks ahead; so, at the last appt Dr. Percy ordered an US to check his actual size. Kay the super sweet ultrasound tech always makes ultrasounds so fun; and she ALWAYS gives us the DVD and CD of pictures!! On to the ultrasound info :)
He did measure a little big, about a week and half ahead already being almost 4 pounds. So, it's not just fluid making me measure big...it's actually him! ha! I asked Kay what all that could mean delivery wise because of course a big head slightly concerns me for a vaginal delivery :). She said they do not change your due date, but will continue to watch him and may induce a week early. She said she has seen other OB's induce two weeks early, but Dr. Percy and Smith are more conservative for baby's safety and prefer a week (maybe 10 days in rare cases). Another option could mean if he continues to grow alot we could end up needing a C-Section. Or the pressure of his big little body might break my water putting me into labor early all on his own. She said 1 in 4 woman expierence their water breaking and from her expierence she would say I probably have a good chance of that since I'm so tiny and he is bigger and I have a good amount of amniotic fluid. BUT all in all God is in control and you NEVER know. Anything is possible! We are open for whatever just as long as he is born healthy! (PS wont lie though 2 weeks early all on his own would be legit for multiple reasons :) to name a few 1. heartburn is of the devil, 2. sleeping on my back was taken for granted 8 months ago, and most importantly 3. matt would still be on summer vacation!)
We discovered Caleb looks very much like his daddy! Kay said, "he is going to be a mommy's boy, but look like his daddy!" He wouldnt let us take good pictures of him to show all of you how much like Matt he looks.....I laughed at this because I think he very well may get that from me. When I was a kid I HATED having my picture taken. I would frown or flat out refuse because I didnt want my picture taken..side note little miss Olivia Schreiber is showing that wonderful Jessica Hayes trait as well! Anywho, Caleb wouldn't move his feet or hands away from his face long enough for us to get a picture!  This is the best she was able to get and his hand and foot are both in it. He still looks SUPER sweet though :) Monica was in there for a good bit watching with us. She and Kay both said he has Matts chin and profile! Kay also saw HAIR---that's a Teplicek thing for sure! Before baby Noah, we Hayes' had no idea what it was like to see a newborn with hair. That always came along around the age of 2. lol! We can't wait to meet this sweet little face and see some brown hair (so he blends in with us of coarse, but ya never know it could be blonde). I have said the whole time I hope he looks like his HANDSOME daddy!
He is already head down and ready for the next 10 weeks to fly by! Head down means that big knot I feel at the top of my tummy is his butt or foot just like I thought. Now I bet some are thinking, "I thought you said his foot was covering his face?" You are right, little man was spread eagle with one foot up at the top and the other down by his face with his hands....that is unreal!
We loved watching the ultrasound. We got to see him hiccup, which I started noticably feeling earlier this week. He gets them all the time. I read that that's a great thing because he is practicing his breathing and developing well! Toward the end we even saw him yawn, blink, and stick out his tongue! THAT by far was the most insane! It just puts it into perspective that this life is living inside of me! Here are videos. the first is his hiccups and the second is his tongue sticking out.

I read during my quiet time the other day how children are a reward. This has really stuck in my head that God finds us to be worthy of a great reward. We feel so fortunate to receive this blessing that we most definitely do not deserve. We pray that we are Godly parents who daily point him and ourselves to the cross of Christ. It's a big task, and sometimes seems scary, but God is granting us this reward and I KNOW He is faithful and will walk us through this new and exciting chapter!

Tomorrow is our first baby shower at Caroline Graef's house! I AM SO PUMPED! I will post about it for sure!

3rd Trimester!

Today welcomes the THIRD trimester! It's crazy how fast and slow it feels like time has gone with this pregnancy! I cannot believe in 12 weeks we will meet our little bug!
We saw Dr. Percy today and as usual everything went great. His heart rate was still in the 150's and he is one active little dude! We go back every 2 weeks now till 35 weeks then every week till he makes his arrival! Our next appointment is May 27th and we will be seeing Dr. Smith and having an ultrasound to measure Caleb. My big ole belly is measuring at 30 weeks; so, Dr Percy wants to do an US and see if it's amniotic fluid making me big or if Caleb is just big....we'll see in 2 weeks! I am excited about this ultrasound because he will look more like one of us if he resembles us and have a lot more attributes to see!
Anyways, stay tuned as we sail through the final trimester now! August will be here before we know it especially since Matt gets out for school next Friday! WOW!

Side note: Caleb is moving ALL the time! Matt and I do kick counts to make sure he is moving enough which is suppose to be 10 times in an hour. Well, our little man has got those 10 kicks covered in less than 3 minutes! When he moves now we can feel hard and bony parts (either his butt, elbows, knees, or heels)! It's so neat and weird all at the same time. It's hard to imagine this little life crammed in there! God is amazing and I cannot even begin to fathom how people do not see and understand the miracle of life. If  I wasn't already, pregnancy has made me more passionate about being pro-life. This little being was fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of God (before Matt and I even knew about it)! HOW AMAZING IS THAT! We can't wait to have and hold this little baby and show him how much we love him and how much God loves him. We are already so excited about his baptism and pray that that outward sign would be the inward motion of the Holy Spirit years to follow! God is so good and I 100% see how he uses children to show us more of Him and His love and Caleb isn't even here yet. I pray for childlike faith as this third trimester moves on. I know I will have my times of OH MY WORD WE'RE HAVING A BABY, I'M NOT READY! to OH MY WORD GET OUT AND BE HERE ALREADY! I trust in Christ and know that this is HIS will for us and because of that I have full confidence he will carry me through this change like He always has and it will be one of the most exciting times in our lives!

Dresser!

Caleb's dresser came today from Our New Baby! I'm so happy with the choice we made! I initially wanted the double dresser, but it would have taken up too much up the room and looked cluttered! So, we settled on the single dresser!
We put the down payment on it on Thursday to confirm it would be here Saturday at 12:00pm. Well, we got a call at 11:30 saying our dresser was not placed on the truck and would not arrive until the end of next week (this week now as I write this). I was bummed, but the guy said they would deliver instead of us having to pick it up because of the mix up! WELL, this morning I got a phone call from the guy I had been dealing with initally and he was very sorry! He said because of the mess up he went to the wearhouse in Dothan this AM before heading to Panama City and picked up our dresser and would deliver by 6pm today! This was a GREAT surprise!!! SOOOO here it is!

We are very happy with the final decision to go with the single dresser! The plan is to put a rocker/glider to the right of the dresser. It looks fantastic and I cannot wait till the whole room is finished!

PS: Matt fully painted his room last week (IN TWO DAYS!) He did a great job! I could not be happier with the color either! His room is coming together so nicely!!

RASH!?!?!

Called the OB today to tell them I had a little rash on my belly (right of my belly button). They had me come in and see Dr. Smith. Well, since I was the last patient, Dr. Percy and Dr. Smith both came in the room and examined me together. They don't know what it is, so hydrocortizone cream it is, but it was still a fun appointment getting them both together! How often do you get to see two doctors at once and not rushed at all!
AND SUPER SUPER GREAT NEWS: I passed the one hour glucose tolerance test with FLYING colors! You had to have a 135 and Teplicek here got a 105....oh yeah! I'm also anemic so I will be taking extra iron which if you know how what works it's not fun....it leads to even more of one of the already annoyances of pregnancy: constipation!
Next appointment is at 28 weeks on May 13 and looking forward to it as always!!
Monica was the one that listen to Caleb's heartbeat so I made of video of it. It was 156 and he has the hiccups in it too which you have to listen really close to catch them (ps: i had just left the gym prior to the appointment bc I did not know I'd be going so excuse the way i look! plus I didnt know how to make just a sound recording so that is why it is in video i hadnt planned on showing myself or monica until after it started so you wouldnt just be looking at the wall)
